What an incredible Nationwide Day of Second Chances!

Thanks to our amazing church partners and volunteers, April 20, Nationwide Day of Second Chances, was a huge success—8 job fairs happening simultaneously in 4 states helping some 700 job seekers.

Every location had awe-inspiring stories and attracted lots of media attention. One story we especially love is that of Emerson, who attended the Washington, D.C. job fair hosted by Anacostia River Church at the DC Dream Center. He radiated hope as he left with two job offers:

We’re still tallying up the media coverage, but so far, we’ve counted more than 70 mentions from Miami to DC. Here are a few of the highlights:

The Kings & Priests podcast, part of the Vast network that reaches more than 3 million listeners nationwide, spoke with CEO Megan Rose leading up the big day in an episode that aired April 13. Watch the Kings & Priests podcast episode featuring Megan Rose.

ABC-7 in Fort Myers also interviewed Megan live on air, and all four major networks mentioned the job fair in their newscasts.

Sozo Today with The Bridge FM Morning Crew broadcast live from the job fair in Winterville, North Carolina. Listen to a replay of the broadcast by The Bridge FM Morning Crew.

Pastor Thabiti Anyabwile gave an interview to O’Connor and Company on WMAL in Washington, D.C., among other media outlets. Listen to the WMAL interview with Pastor Thabiti Anyabwile.

Nationally acclaimed Social Issues Reporter Kyle Swenson covered the event for The Washington Post. Read The Washington Post article.

88.9 WEKU interviewed Pastor Néstor D. Gómez at Bluegrass Community Church in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Ocala News featured the job fair hosted by BreadBreakers Church in Belleview, Florida. Read the Ocala News article.

Good Day Tampa Bay shared about Bridgepoint Church’s job fair in St. Petersburg, Florida, on FOX 13.

The job fair with Normandy Park Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, got several on-air mentions on ABC 25 WJXX TV and First Coast News, WTLV NBC 12.
