We are honored to share that the Florida Department of Children and Families recognized Better Together with a 2023 Moments of Impact Award on Thursday, September 7, at the Florida Children and Families Summit in Orlando for our contributions toward supporting strong and resilient Florida families. Better Together was also praised for our work after Hurricanes Ian and Idalia, as we provided hurricane relief and assessed families’ needs.
At the conference, I also had the opportunity to speak before hundreds of people in child welfare. Hopeful Images founder Kinfay Moroti joined me, sharing his own powerful story, as we led a discussion about the role of storytelling in helping families who are struggling.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing conversation around child welfare in Florida and ending the foster care crisis. With more than 20,000 calls to the abuse hotline every month, the system is overwhelmed, and parents need help before it gets to that point. With your help, we are strengthening families and in turn our communities.
