Chris Ciccone waited outside Northside Church of Christ on Tuesday, April 16, hoping.

The 37-year-old father of three (Crystal, Ella and Carter) hoped the employers inside the historic Jacksonville church would give him something he desperately wanted. A chance to earn a full-time job.
“I’ve done some things in the past that I’m trying to get over, and these people (employers) are here to give people a second chance,” said Chris.
Once inside, Chris joined some 130 job seekers attending the Nationwide Days of Second Chances job fair.
Held throughout Florida, in DC and Lexington, Kentucky, the job fairs connected returning citizens and others with employment barriers to hiring managers who value second chances. Community resource partners also provided vital services.
After several on-the-spot interviews, Chris walked confidently outside the church with requests from employers for him to follow-up with them as soon as possible.
“It gives you some inspiration,” said Chris of the job fair. “It’s a second chance at life.”
