Southwest Florida Virtual Job Fair Details

Because of COVID-19, we had to postpone our Nationwide Day of Second Chances to November 12, 2020, but we wanted to think of a new way to bring job opportunities to Southwest Florida, so we are hosting our first-ever Virtual Job Fair!

This virtual job fair will connect hundreds of people in Southwest Florida with dozens of employers hiring right now. This is your shot to find work right from the comfort of your home!

What to Expect

We are excited to have you join our first ever Virtual Job Fair for the Southwest Florida Region!

We will be conducting these interviews through Zoom. Our goal is to make sure you know what to expect as a Job Seeker attending the Job Fair.

Each employer will have a two-hour time slot. The job-seeker will sign up individually for each employer that they are interested in learning more about their job opportunities. The first hour will be a presentation, during which the job seeker will have a chance to ask questions and engage in a short conversation with the employer. The second hour will be group and individual interviews between the job seekers and employers if you are a good fit for what they are looking for in an employee. As you wait for your interview, you’ll have an opportunity to connect with a volunteer Job Coach.

Event Ground Rules

Prior to the virtual job fair, please make sure you have the latest version of Zoom installed on your Android/iPhone, laptop, or another device.

  • Each employer session will be led by a Better Together facilitator.

  • Upon entering the ZOOM meeting, your microphone will be muted and your video will be displayed. Since employers will be able to see you, make sure to dress to impress!

  • You must keep your microphone muted for the duration of the meeting. A facilitator will have the ability to unmute your microphone or otherwise welcome you to talk.

  • Please use the chat function to indicate that you want to say something and wait to be invited to share or ask a question.

  • Please be professional, polite, and patient during the initial employer presentation and the group interview.
  • Stay present and attentive. Even while you’re potentially waiting for an opportunity to speak with employers, you will want to be available.

  • If for any reason, your behavior/audio/video is distracting, you will be removed from the meeting and not allowed to return.
