change a child’s world. a family’s story. lives through your gifts. someone’s tomorrow. lives, one family at a time.
Why volunteer?
When you volunteer with Better Together, you’re doing more than helping a family – you’re shaping future generations.
By giving your time and support, you help children thrive, guide families through challenges, and strengthen communities. Your efforts provide encouragement without judgment, honoring each family’s unique needs and helping them build a brighter future.
host family
Welcome them in
By opening your home as a host family, you provide a safe, loving place for children during a difficult time – until their parents can bring them home again.
This temporary care can be just a few hours, like helping a parent attend a job interview, or longer, giving families hope and stability – while letting kids be kids.
Your compassion and stability can make a lasting difference.
mentor
Show the way
Life’s toughest challenges can feel impossible when you face them alone.
As a mentor, you’ll meet with parents to help them reach goals like finding work, safe housing, or managing money – while offering the encouragement and friendship they need along the way.
Whether it’s building confidence, exploring new opportunities, or offering guidance through life decisions, your support can change someone’s path.
job coach
Guide to success
Losing a job can be devastating.
That’s why our workforce ministry walks alongside parents and job seekers to help them rebuild, find meaningful work, and regain hope.
As a job coach, you’ll help with resumes and interview preparation – either one-on-one or at job fairs – giving people the tools and confidence to succeed.
resource Volunteer
Give from the heart
Your talents and gifts can brighten the lives of families we serve.
As a resource volunteer, you can provide services like haircuts, tutoring, or babysitting, bake for events, deliver supplies, or provide transportation.
Whatever you can give, big or small, makes a lasting difference.
Church Coordinator
Lead your community
The Church Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between their church and Better Together. They encourage and pray for active volunteers, coordinate wraparound support for Host Families within their congregation, and help recruit and cultivate new members to serve.
Through their leadership, the church community stays engaged, supported, and equipped to serve families in crisis.
Advocacy Volunteer
Be a Voice in the Community
Helps share our mission by speaking at events, supporting community outreach and advocacy efforts, canvassing, or using your creative skills in writing, photography, or video to inspire others and raise awareness in the community.
