Love doesn’t fit in backpacks.
So, volunteers at Mission Community Church placed love in the hearts of families attending Mission’s recent back-to-school event in Fort Myers.
Glad-to-see-you hugs, easy-like-Sunday-morning smiles, lean-on-me prayers, and undivided attention created moments of encouragement and gratitude.
Fifty families registered for the event presented by Mission and Better Together. Dinner from Fancy’s Southern Cafe was served. Priority Marketing and First Assembly of God donated backpacks and school supplies, while Crumpton Creamery donated ice cream.
Graciela, eating ice cream with her two sons, shared her feelings about the efforts of everyone involved.
“I’m grateful. We feel the love.”
