Kayla knew on Wednesday that she would be successful on Thursday.
How did Kayla know?
She’s a believer.
So when Thursday’s horizon shook off the darkness, Kayla, a mother of two, rose, prayed with intention, and made her way to the Better Together job fair at Nations Church in Orlando.
Volunteers welcomed Kayla and walked with her into the bright sanctuary, which was alive with job coaches, employers, resource partners, and the song of the Opportunity Bell celebrating job seekers.
Before joining the others, Kayla inhaled deeply and summoned her authentically positive energy. “I got it. It’s mine already,” Kayla told herself about the job opportunity that she believed God would provide.
Richelle Vanderlip, a director of recruiting with Panera, noticed Kayla’s presence in the crowd. “I saw her natural energy. She was interacting warmly and authentically with people,” said Richelle. When Kayla came to Panera’s table, Richelle was excited to learn more about her.
Richelle and Kayla liked each other instantly. After reviewing Kayla’s work experience and speaking with her in an interview room, Richelle asked Kayla to join the Panera team.
“Yes!” said Kayla with a smile of a believer.
