A living declaration

This weekend, we celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

Courageous American disruptors made this wartime declaration while fighting against Great Britain for the right to self-govern. The declaration laid claim to the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

This living declaration continues to help guide humanity’s long walk to freedom. It motivates individuals to exhibit bravery, families to thrive, and communities to unite to achieve what they cannot accomplish alone.

The spirit of the declaration infuses the work of Better Together.

Our volunteers, unafraid to do hard things, are helping end the foster care crisis in Florida.

Host families provide short-term care for children. Mentors walk alongside parents. Church partners host job fairs and outreach events. Community partners share vital wrap-around services.

Yet, it’s God’s grace that keeps our country, communities, and families united.

Have a safe and meaningful Fourth of July.
