Three people stand indoors; one holds a large "I GOT A JOB!" sign, smiling. The setting appears to be a job fair or employment event.

A faithful surprise

Kyrie, Natalie, and Levi wondered why their father, Chris, got a fresh haircut earlier this week.

But Chris kept the reason why he got the cut to himself.

On Thursday morning, Chris made his way to the Better Together job fair at Carmel Friendship Church in Wesley Chapel. He was nervous. He hadn’t worked in two months. But Chris walked through the church’s open doors, believing if God’s eye is on the “sparrow,” it’s on him too.

As Chris met with employers and shared his teaching experience, the thought of being able to provide for his children motivated him. Then Chris met Gina from Home Instead.

Gina interviewed Chris and learned he also worked as a paraprofessional with children who have special needs. She offered Chris a job.

After ringing the Opportunity Bell to celebrate, Chris encouraged his fellow job seekers. “Keep praying. God is real.”

Then Chris left to go see Kyrie, Natalie, and Levi.

He had a surprise to share.
