When the engine blew, Patricia thought: No car, no child care. No child care, no work. No work, no housing. Patricia could not bear what that would mean for her and her four children. She called Better Together.
When learning of the need, Madison and Phillip of Summit Church donated their 2007 Toyota.
In a mall parking lot, Better Together’s Vanessa Estrada introduced Patricia and Madison. The two moms, strangers until this moment, hugged.
“This car came to us in a very hard season,” Madison shared with Patricia, “so this means a lot to us to be able to give this to you.”
Patricia’s gratitude overflowed. She pressed her hands to her eyes. “I’m still kind of absorbing this,” she said.
A community is forming around Patricia.
A Better Together mentor is helping her navigate obstacles. A Covenant Church of Naples | PCA volunteer, who helped Patricia with rides, invited her into the church family.
“To actually meet people who care,” Patricia said, still in disbelief.
