Better Together 2020 Memorable Moments

We’re all ready for a new year.

Before we say goodbye to 2020, our team at Better Together wanted to share with you some of our most memorable moments through photos.

This was our most impactful year yet. When faced with overwhelming needs and significant challenges, we never shut down. We never lost hope.

Instead, we doubled down. Our volunteers showed the best in humanity. Our host families welcomed hundreds of Southwest Florida children into their homes and mentored parents toward self-sufficiency with a 96% success rate.

Our church partners adapted quickly to a virtual job fair model and helped over 2,000 people find work when they didn’t have time to wait for government relief.

More than 100 new volunteers joined our mission.

We are proud of the work we accomplished this year. It was a breakout year of growth and opportunity. Lives were changed and families are stronger. Whatever 2021 holds, we’re ready.

Thank you for being a part of our incredible story.

Join us for a 33-hour campaign dedicated to raising money and awareness for nonprofit organizations doing good in Marion County. Fundraising kicks off today and ends at 7 p.m. tomorrow.

We help families weather life’s storms, and sometimes an actual storm becomes the crisis.

For families who are in poverty and isolated, a hurricane can push them over the edge, leaving children at risk. Our mission is to help families before they fall.

After Hurricane Ian in 2022, we were boots on the ground, knocking on doors and responding to the immediate needs of those most vulnerable in our communities. We mobilized hundreds of volunteers and worked alongside government officials, local partners, and churches to help at-risk families. We’re doing the same now in areas impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
