Better Luncheon — Bradenton
- This event has passed.
Parenting is tough business. No matter how wonderful and functional our upbringing, we all have questions, struggles and concerns when raising our children. To help parents along their journey, Better Together organizes a luncheon each month to bring parents together for community, to support each other and to hear from experts while their children play supervised in another room.
The guest speaker May 14 is Tina Wilson, a family navigator for First 1,000 Days Suncoast. She helps families navigate the healthcare system. About 80% of brain development happens in a child’s first three years of life. Hence, First 1,000 Days, an initiative of more than 85 organizations working together. The initiative has resources that cover parenting classes, mental health counseling, child care, access to food, medical care, dental care and more. Families do not have to be low-income to qualify.
The initiative also has a free text messaging program, called The Basics, that sends families two texts a week about various ways to bond with your child (ages 3 and younger).
There is no cost. The church is providing lunch. Free child care, food, raffles and fun!
