Meet Debbie Savage. She started working at Publix part time as a cashier. Thanks to the company’s commitment to its staff and to developing team members’ skills, Debbie has worked her way up to Supervisor of Retail Staffing. Now, she recruits new Publix employees at Better Together job fairs.

We also love that Publix started out as one store owned by a man with an enterprising vision. That one store—started by George Jenkins in 1930—in Winter Haven, Florida, grew to two, and so on and so forth. Today, Publix has 1,370 stores in eight states.
We believe the sky’s the limit, too. We started out in Naples, Florida, in 2015 with a big idea to end the foster care crisis, and we now serve families across six regions of Florida that encompass 48 counties.
