Better Together seeks a digital marketing coordinator to assist the marketing and communications team with digital communications and promotional efforts via our web, email and social media platforms. We seek an enthusiastic problem solver and innovator who loves to think outside the box, nerd out on emerging digital trends and excel in a fast-paced environment.

Better Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping children safe and families together while empowering people through meaningful work. Since 2015, Better Together has served more than 3,800 children and 38,000 job seekers through two highly successful programs: Better Families and Better Jobs. The marketing and communications team plays a critical role in executing this growing organization’s five-year strategic plan.

The digital marketing coordinator is a junior level role and will report to the marketing and communications manager and contribute to Better Together’s overall digital strategy by executing various marketing campaigns and strategic communications. A key responsibility for this position is to help ensure that Better Together’s digital content is timely, accurate and visually compelling. Must be comfortable working remotely.

The digital marketing coordinator role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Better Together’s marketing plans to drive brand awareness, audience engagement and acquisition.
  • Serve as a project manager and researcher for various digital marketing efforts and projects.
  • Assist with creating content for Better Together social media accounts and email newsletters; this role will create social media graphics and stories for all digital platforms.
  • Assist with day-to-day updates on the Better Together website and support various web projects to increase the visibility for Better Together’s brand of work.
  • Execute on email marketing projects, which includes gathering content and assisting with layout, testing, sending and reporting on metrics.
  • Track data on the success of various marketing efforts and team goals; create reports to share this information both within the marketing and communications team and across the broader organization.
  • Play an integral role in managing Better Together’s digital communications calendar.
  • Brainstorm creative concepts and tactics to support Better Together’s digital strategies and goals.
  • Create and deploy digital marketing efforts to help support and promote church job fairs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1-3 years professional work experience in marketing, communications or related field; internships may be considered experience
  • The ability to create basic graphics
  • Working knowledge of marketing strategies and content that are effective on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram
  • Highly organized with an ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Solution oriented—ready to suggest improvements, repairs and enhancements, then implement and test them, carrying the project through to completion.
  • Strong computer skills: Experience working with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Teams and Excel, and/or the array of Google Workspace products, such as Docs and Sheets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Willing and able to travel to Fort Myers, Florida, two to four times a year.
  • Minimal travel is required for this role; likely less than 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
  • Familiarity with social media advertising
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Ads
  • Knowledge of WordPress or other CMS
  • Knowledge of MailChimp or other email marketing platforms
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM/databases


The digital marketing coordinator position is full-time and may require work in the evenings and on weekends. Better Together is headquartered in Naples, Florida, but this position may live in another part of the continental United States. The work is remote and requires a home office. Candidates will be required to travel to the Naples-Fort Myers area four times a year for all-staff meetings.
