A Night to Reignite — Tampa

Being there when needed most…

Tears and hope glistened in Katelyn’s eyes as her husband, Nehemiah, read a letter to Better Together supporters at A Night to Reignite in Tampa on Tuesday, December 3.

“After a biopsy, the results came back, and it was confirmed I had Stage 2 cancer.”

Nehemiah spoke on behalf of Ashley, a single mother of two who reached out to Better Together for help.

“They found a family willing to take both of the kids for me on the days that I had chemotherapy and while I was sick the days after. It was the biggest blessing.”

Katelyn and Nehemiah, with support from the Better Together staff, Northwest Church of Christ, and their employer, Crown Automotive Group, cared for Jaylen and Aaliyah for several months. (We shared their story in August.)

“I am beyond thankful for this program and for Katelyn and Nehemiah for being there for me… I truly believe that if it weren’t for Better Together, I may not have gotten through cancer, and my kids may have got taken, but because of them, I am in remission.”

Thank you to Katelyn and Nehemiah, as well as to our supporters and sponsors of Tuesday’s event, including: Sunshine Health, Humana Healthy Horizons, Suncoast Credit Union, ReliaQuest Bowl and Kohn Law.
