For many years, the team at Better Together has helped those seeking jobs get connected with hiring employers. This has been through our community job fairs, second chance job fairs, and our Nationwide Day of Second Chances (which had to be postponed to November due to COVID-19).
But this past week marked a truly unique way of helping people get connected to jobs – with our first-ever fully virtual job fair.
In less than 3 weeks, our team, along Career Source Southwest, Florida, Florida Rights and Restoration Coalition and Next Level Church, were able to link arms and host a virtual job fair with over 550 job seekers registered and 20+ employers.
Training Churches from What We’ve Learned
Now that we have completed this new kind of job fair, we are learning from this experience, continuing to innovate with our team, and offering training to churches, so they can host their own virtual job fairs in their own cities. Right now, we are inviting churches to join us in our mission by giving their community hope and helping them connect to work. The training will be on Thursday, May 14th from 11:00AM – 4:00PM.
This training will be hosted (as our Virtual Job Fair was) in Zoom and the training is entirely free for any church who is interested.
New Challenges Bring New Opportunities
COVID-19 has created many challenges, but when organizations look at those new problems as a way to create new solutions, great things can happen. Already, there are many stories of companies, organizations, and nonprofits creating new systems, making leaner offerings, and finding new and creative ways to continue serving others.
We are excited for this new kind of Job Fair we can now host and the many new opportunities it will bring for those in need.
