Johnny and Elizabeth Ceto have been a host family since April 2017 in Naples, Florida.
One Sunday, our program received a call from the Department of Children and Families stating that there was a two-year-old named Jayden, brought to the hospital with his mother. His mother was suffering from pneumonia and the child had nowhere to go until the mother could be released.
The Ceto family was contacted right away and came to the hospital to meet his mother, DCF and our staff. Even though Jayden was shy at first to meet the Ceto family, the next day at a home visit Johnny was teaching Jayden how to give a “high five.” Jayden would laugh and smile every time they would play this game with one another.
Jayden returned to his mother after a four-day hosting with new clothes and new shoes. When Jayden went back to his mother, Johnny Ceto said, “If we can help a child for a few days to help his mom get well, that’s what we are here to do.”
Thank you to everyone involved in helping this family get back on their feet! We love our host families and the amazing impact they have on those in need.
