Over 30 local employers will join the non-profit community in promoting equal opportunity and second chances
Better Together will host a Second Chances Job Fair, in Partnership with Next Level Church, at the Fort Myers Dream Center on Thursday, August 29th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event will encourage equal employment opportunities for job seekers with a criminal record.
The job fair will feature over 30 local employers, numerous non-profit agencies offering their services, free haircuts, interview clothing, hygiene items, legal services, and more.
The event is made possible through a city-wide collaboration of sponsoring agencies, which include Better Together, Next Level Church, Career Source of Southwest, Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, Lee County Homeless Coalition, City Gate Ministries, Legal Aid Society, the Department of Corrections, Mt. Hermon Ministries, Goodwill, The Salvation Army, Summit Church, Community Cooperative, Mission Community Church, TCG property management, Fort Myers Christian Church, Valerie’s House, First Assembly Cornerstone and Source of Hope and Light.
“This event gives our community an opportunity for a Fresh Start by creating a culture of celebration that is welcoming and inviting regardless of your background. This collaboration of faith and non-profit partners is a beautiful example of the power of collective impact, together we’ll give hundreds of people in our community an opportunity to find meaningful and dignifying work. We’ll have the opportunity to help our clientele prepare, interview, and for some get employment on the spot. Together, we’ll reach individuals that would otherwise be overlooked if this opportunity wasn’t available at sites like the Next Level Dream Center. This is a hand up, not a hand out.” – Megan Rose, CEO Better Together
